14 Oct Portugal FF Continue Long Standing Partnership With STATSports
The Portuguese Football Federation has signed a new multi-year deal with STATSports to renew their partnership as official GPS tracking technology partners.
The deal sees the PFF build on a successful 8 year relationship that will now extend over a decade – a decade that has seen Portuguese teams challenging for the biggest honours in world football.
STATSports’ technology has enabled coaches to maximise the vast potential within the Portuguese system.
João Brito, Director of Performance & Research at the Portugal Football Federation, commented:

The Sonra Cloud system has allowed PFF to build a system that has continuity from the youth structures right through to the first team, helping them build six trophy-winning national teams since their groundbreaking Euro 2016 success.

With their fixed infrastructure capabilities, STATSports have added a new dimension to Portugal’s new state-of-the-art football facility, Cidade do Futebol, which hosts everyone from the nation’s under-15 team to Cristiano Ronaldo and the senior national team.
Coaches will also have the use of the Local Positioning System (LPS) infrastructure which allows coaches to seamlessly track player performance indoors, as well as across their facility.
