STATSports Viper Indoor at the Lucozade Sport Conditions Zone

STATSports teamed up with Lucozade Sport for their Conditions Zone project that ran from the 3rd of June until the 24th of June. The conditioned tent replicated the conditions that the English team experienced in Brazil, but particularly Manaus with temperatures in the region of 32c and humidity levels of 76% and the Viper Pod as part of the Viper Indoor system were used for performance monitoring and analysis.

It was a bespoke event aligned with the 2014 World Cup and STATSports are delighted to have completed the project with Lucozade Sport by providing performance monitoring services to Lucozade Sports for the entirety of the event using the new Viper Indoor system. It was especially interesting as we provide our performance monitoring and GPS tracking services to the English FA with the English squad having used the STATSports Viper system in all training sessions leading and every session without putting unneeded stress on the body. All of the metrics and physiological aspects measured and monitored using Viper at the Lucozade Conditions Zone included:

  • Total Distance
  • High Speed Distance
  • Max Speed
  • Heart Rate
  • Sweat Loss
  • Weight Loss
  • Core Temperature

All of the performance metrics were measured by the STATSports Live Streaming feature of our Indoor Positional Tracking System, which is the world’s first commercially used system. The system’s reliability is unprecedented with the Live Streaming and Viper Indoor having been in operation for the entire Lucozade Sports Conditions Zone, running continuously for up to 10 hours each day, 6 days a week from the 1st of June until the 24th June including testing and media days.
